Message from the Local Chair

Dear Colleagues
It is with joy that we are working to receive you in Salvador Bahia for INTERTECH'2016 - XIV International Conference on Engineering and Technology Education from February 28 to March 02, 2016. The local organization of this conference has presented an odd endeavor. Therefore there is a great expectation to share the enthusiasm of Bahia, with all of you, in the hope that you can feel part of this process, making sure that the charm of this event will be manifested more intensely on your participation. Therefore, from now on, welcome to Bahia and feel welcomed in the city of Salvador, Brazil's first capital.

Bahia is a warm state where pulses joy, mobilized by the musicality that surrounds us through all the rhythms, the scene of many arts, culture and worthy natural and historical beauties of the most beautiful postcards, as the Chapada Diamantina, Discovery Coast which was declared a World Natural Heritage by UNESCO, and, among many others, the very city of Salvador that will be presented to you on the first day of the event, exploring techniques for improvement of the quality of information and during the event exploring the art and culture that transits in our land, carried forward in space that was arranged for our exchange of experiences.

The Research Group TIPEMSE - Technologies, Pedagogical Innovation and Social Mobilization for Education, on behalf of UNEB - University of the State of Bahia, is pleased to host this conference and its participants, especially for being a scientific group and realize the usefulness of this meeting to mobilize knowledge, viewing opportunities for dialogue between areas, inviting them to look at the social, and see their demands, knowledge and sayings. Thus contribute to the promotion of innovative research in response to contemporary global challenge of providing knowledge to improve the quality of information tools. Therefore agreeing with the thinker Pierre Levy:

Separate knowledge of the machines of cognitive and social competence is the same as artificially manufacture a blind (the informata 'pure') and a paralytic (the expert 'pure' in humanities), which attempts to associate them; but it will be too late, the damage will have been done.

So we are together now and the city of Salvador waits with open arms.
