José Carlos Metrôlho has a degree in Electrical Engineering. He has a Master degree from the University of Minho in the area of automation and PhD from the University of Minho in the Industrial Computer field. He is higher education lecturer since September 1994. He was Chairman of the Department of Informatics Engineering of ESTCB, member of the General Council of IPCB, member of the Scientific Council of ESTCB, member of Technical-Scientific Council of ESTCB, member of Educational Council of ESTCB. He is currently director of ESTCB - Escola Superior de Tecnologia de Castelo Branco. He was also a member of the executive committee of the IEEE Portugal and president of the IEEE Computer Chapter Portugal. He is member of the Institute of Engineers of Portugal - OE.
