Professional Profile

Vice Dean of Information Engineering, professor in the Academic Department of Engineering and researcher at Universidad del Pacífico. He is a doctor in Computer Science from the University of Montpellier (France) in cooperation with the University of New Caledonia and holds a Master's degree in Science, Technology, and Health, majoring in Computer Science, specializing in Computer Science with Unified Professional Research Purposes from the University of Montpellier. He is a Systems Engineer from Universidad Andina del Cuzco. Mr. Alatrista has broad experience as a professor of Computer Science. His areas of expertise are focused on data mining techniques and machinery learning. Thus, his doctoral dissertation mainly targeted the spatio-temporal data mining techniques to identify complex correlations from public health and environment-linked data. He also works on the fields of visualization of information and big data. Hugo Alatrista did a 2-year postdoctoral training at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and belongs to its Pattern Recognition and Applied Artificial Intelligence Group. He is part of the editorial team of the RECI journal in Mexico and serves as jury at MIT Technology Review Innovators under 35. He is also part of the Reading Committees of numerous conferences and journals. He was a member of the Organizing Committee of conferences such as NLDB 2014, CIARP 2016, SIMBig 2014, 2015 and 2016, among others.
