The IX Safety, Health and Environment World Congress – SHEWC'2009, happened in Mongaguá, seashore of São Paulo State in Brazil, on July 26 to 29, 2009.

The theme of the congress was: "Safety, Health and Environmental Issues and the Impact on Contemporary World".

The official languages were English, Spanish and Portuguese.
